The "Pirtek Protek Diesel Arrow" is an Unlimited Diesel Truck (UDT) designed for one reason "high speeds" on salt lake at South Australia. The truck is a custom built machine, which is powered by a Detroit series 60 producing 1200 horsepower.
2010 will be the year…
Gavin Manning, the crew and the (Pirtek) Diesel Arrow will attempt to
smash the Australian land speed record in 2010 at Lake Gairdner. The
team is ready and focused and has one job in mind - to reach 150MPH
With a complete new under tray and with the already aero design the
Blue Arrow should have no problems reaching its goal. Manning says,with
the right weather conditions and a good solid run, the truck should
have no problem hitting speeds of 265KPH. Manning also says with out the
massive effort by Ben hardy, Doug Manning, Paul Caser and the all the
sponsors the Arrow would not be going anywhere…
With the disappointment of 07 and 08 been behind us due to wash outs,
the team has refocused and they all believe that this should be an
